No Password Confirmation or Communication Received |
|
If you've registered and have yet to receive confirmation, it's possible that the email you provided when you registered was either incorrect or there's a technical fault with your service provider.
If you know your member ID, please use the "Get Password" facility located beneath the login box to have a new password sent to you.
If, however, you don't have you member ID, please contact us stating the email address you registered with and we'll do our best to locate your profile. Should we be unable to locate you in the system, you'll have to register again being doubly careful to enter the correct (or an alternative) email address.

Free Guest Membership |
|
As a free member you'll have the opportunity to
place up to three ads, one in each category for "dating",
"social" or "sports".
You'll be able to use the basic search facility as
well as browse member profiles. Should you find somebody you'd like to contact,
you'll be able to use the "Quick Reply" facility.
Once a week you'll receive our newsletter listing
details of our latest members, site news and any promotions and special offers
we have available for you.
You'll
also have access to our selection of interesting dating and friendship related
articles.

Full Membership |

In addition to the benefits of free membership (see
above), you'll have use of the mailbox and will be able to send unlimited
messages as well as respond to messages received from others. You'll also be
able to have your messages forwarded to your own email address.
Your weekly newsletter will be customizable meaning
that you'll only receive information about those members that are likely to be
of interest to you.
Our 1-2-1
real time messaging system will be available to you, giving you greater
opportunity to get to know other members.
To help you find exactly the type of members who
are most likely to suit your needs, our power search facility will be
available. To make things even easier for you, your searches will be
automatically saved so that next time you use it, all you'll need to do is hit
the "search" button.
If
you're looking for a date, chances are you'll want to know what a potential
partner looks like before contacting them. To save you from wading through
dozens of profiles that have no photos attached, you can search for only those
who have posted photos.

I Cannot Find My Profile. It Appears To Have Been Deleted. Why? |

There are three reasons why a profile may have been
deleted:
You requested that we delete it or used the delete
option in "My Profile Options".
You have violated our terms & conditions and
have not responded to any warning sent.
We
have been unable to communicate with you via email despite repeated attempts.

Yes, of course. Once you have completed your full
registration the Instant Messaging System will be open for you to use as often
as you require it.

Another possibility is that the site is very new
and they're "giving away" full membership in order to build up a

Full Membership Subscription: |

You can gain full access to all available
facilities on SocialFriendsOnline by using our secure payment service provider
to upgrade your membership. Simply go to your "control panel" and
choose "Upgrade Membership". From here you will be sent to our
payment partner where you can use your MasterCard, Visa or American Express
card to pay for your full membership package.
For
those who prefer not to use their credit card, full membership can be ordered by
sending a cheque or postal order for the full amount. Details of where to send
to can be found by choosing the "Upgrade Membership" option from your
"control panel".

Will My Card Be Automatically Re-billed? |

Yes, you can pay online. Please see above.
Our payment service provider, 2checkout.com, uses
the latest technology and 127 bit encryption to ensure that your details are
kept completely confidential. As SocialFriendsOnline does not handle your
payment directly, we have no access to your details nor do we hold any records
of your card details.
In fact, your card details are much safer when you
upgrade your membership than if you were to use your card in a conventional
shop or restaurant.

Why Can't I Open and Read My Message As A Guest Member? |

Although guest members are free to send messages,
to read any messages you receive from other members will require that you
upgrade to a full membership. This will also enable you to use other site
facilities such as the instant chat service, the SMS mobile service and more.

Why Do I Have To Subscribe To Use All The Web Site Facilities And Read My Messages? |

Unfortunately, running an Internet site such as this one costs more than we can generate by running the service where the majority of visitors are non-paying members.
It's in the interest of all members that as many as possible upgrade to a full membership as the greater our revenue, the more features we can add in the future. Remember that designers, programmers, administration staff and advertising all need to be paid so without full paying members, SocialFriendsOnline simply wouldn't exist.
When evaluating the value of full membership, bear in mind that the cost is actually less than what you'd spend during a night out on the town, or even a couple of nights in a quiet, local bar - and the chances of meeting somebody suitable are FAR greater making membership of SocialFriendsOnline excellent value for money. The restrictions to free memberships are clearly outlined in our Terms and Conditions, which you agreed that you'd read before joining the service.

I Have Upgraded To Full Membership But Can't Open And Read My Messages? |
|
It could be that you're still viewing a cached
version of the site so try hitting the "refresh" button on your
browser.
If that doesn't help, try deleting the cookies that
are stored on your PC. There will be an option in your browser tools that will
do this for you.
Should
you still experience problems, please contact us and we'll do our best
to remedy the situation.

I Can't Log On? |
|
Could it be that you're entering a wrong password
or Member ID? Remember that both are case sensitive, meaning that SANDbank used
as a password cannot be entered as sandBANK or SandbaNK. Both passwords and
Member Ids must be keyed exactly as you registered them.
If you're sure you're entering your correct Member
ID and password, you can request a new password be sent to you by clicking the
link "Get Password". To use this option, you MUST use the
email address you originally registered with. If this is no longer valid then
there is no way of retrieving your Member ID (should that be forgotten) or
resetting your password.
As
detailed in the Terms & Conditions that you agreed you'd read when you
registered your membership, keeping your email address current and valid is
YOUR responsibility.

What Is My Member ID? |
|
When you subscribed to our service, a welcome email was sent to you. This email contained you Member ID.
If you haven't received a welcome email from us then you must have either provided an email address that either doesn't exist or isn't yours, or there's a fault with your service provider.
If you're sure the email address you registered with us is correct and functional, click "Get Member ID" to have your ID sent to your email box.
Should you still experience problems, please contact us and we'll do our best to remedy the situation.

How do I use the SMS text messaging system? |
|
In order to be able to send text messages to other
members, you will need to buy SMS credits. This can be done by going to your
"control panel" and clicking on "My SMS Credit".
Credits are available in increments of 10, 25 and 40.
Once you have available credits you will be able to
send SMS text messages to any other members who are in a country where the
service is available and have signed up.
Each
time you send a message, one point will be removed from your account.

How do I use the 1-2-1 chat system? |
|
Our chat system is a real time system meaning that
anything you send to another member will be received immediately, just like
when you use an "instant messenger".
The messaging system is completely secure - only
you and the other member can see the conversation.
While
we require our members to express caution towards other member's feelings on
the public areas of the site, what you choose to discuss during 1-2-1
chats is entirely up to you.

SFO are constantly enhancing and updating sections of the site, a static site is a poor site, and not very good for socialising. We are always thinking of waysto improve the site and adding more functionality allowing users to interact with each other much more effectivly.

In order ot make the site much more interactive the social friends team have been toying with online videao and audio as seen on some other topsites, this does however casue some issue for concern like hosting bandwidth usage, which effectivly could cost use wel over £200 pounds per month to maintain, should we offer this service this would have ot be a paid for service offered to our memebrs to cover our overheads

Social friends online , has a monthly free competition to encourage other users to get people to sign up and build we hope one of the best social netwoking websites in the world, obviously to persaude memebrs ot send messages to there friends we think its only fair we offer an incentive, after all it does mean a small amount of time for an sfo memebr ot fil in the send to a friend form
